MARGAO: A 73-year-old woman from Navelim, South Goa, passed away at GMC Bambolim on Friday morning following a fall at her residence.
Police said the deceased, Jaipali Chauhan, originally from Uttar Pradesh and residing at Mandopa, Navelim, sustained injuries after slipping in her bathroom. She was admitted to GMC Bambolim for treatment but succumbed while undergoing care.
An inquest panchanama was conducted, and the body was sent for post-mortem. Police Surgeon later certified the cause of death as “intra-cranial hemorrhage in a person with diseased liver and kidneys.”
The body has been handed over to the family for final rites. Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Sanjay Velip of Margao Town Police Station.
