PORVORIM: Minister for Agriculture Ravi Naik informed the house that 7664 farmers have received compensation under the SAN scheme due to crops damaged by stray and wild animals/natural calamities/c floods/cyclones from 2019 to date.
“The total number of farmers who have applied for compensation under SAN are 9554 from 01/06/2019 till date Number of farmers that have received compensation from 01/06/2019 till date is 7664 numbers,” said Naik.
Further, 1180 applications are rejected for not fulfilling the guidelines of the SAN scheme, and the pending applications are under process for payment of compensation.
“Compensation under Shetkari Aadhar Nidhi (SAN) is not provided for very low yields/reduction in yield in cashew fruits and nuts due to unseasonal rains,” he informed.
The minister said that, at present, the government does not have any proposal to provide compensation for low yields under the SAN scheme.
