FATORDA: A 77-year-old man from Guplem, Fatorda, died on Monday afternoon following a fall inside his residence.
The incident came to light after the PCR informed police at 2 pm on November 24, 2025, that an elderly man was lying injured near Divya Laundry.
Police reached the spot and found the man lying on the floor with a green nylon rope beside him. He was identified as Domingo Barbosa (77) by his wife, Miguelinha Colaco.
According to the initial enquiry, Barbosa had climbed an aluminium ladder to reach an iron ceiling hook when he lost balance and fell to the ground.
His wife told police that he had been suffering from prostate cancer and was undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim, and had been experiencing severe pain and distress due to his condition.
Police conducted a scene of UD occurrence panchanama, and the body has been preserved at SGDH, Margao for medico-legal examination.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI S. Prabhudessai of Fatorda Police Station.
