PORVORIM: In a significant breakthrough, Porvorim Police have arrested the seventh accused in connection with a dacoity case registered on March 17, 2025. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police tracked the accused, Mithilesh Indradev Yadav, 24, a resident of Camurlim, Bardez–Goa, who was found hiding in a rented room in Bengaluru.
A police team from Porvorim Police Station comprising PSI Arun Shirodkar, Head Constable Vinay Shrivastava, Constables Hemant Gaonkar and Nitesh Gaude, under the supervision of SDPO Vishwesh Karpe and PI Rahul Parab, travelled to Bengaluru and successfully apprehended the accused on April 10, 2025.
According to SP North Goa, Akshat Kaushal, IPS, the arrested individual is a habitual offender, previously involved in two separate cases—one of theft registered at Pernem Police Station and another of assault at Porvorim Police Station, both in 2024.
The accused was produced before the court and has been remanded to five days of police custody. With this arrest, a total of seven accused have been apprehended in connection with the case, with six already in judicial custody.
