SALIGAO: An 80-year-old man was found dead inside his house at Don Waddo, Saligao, on Thursday evening after neighbours alerted police that he had not been seen for two days.
Police said they received a call at around 6.29 pm from Mrs. Magret D’Souza, a neighbour of the deceased. PSI David Costa and his team from Saligao police station rushed to the spot and, with the help of Fire Services, forced open the door of the house.
Inside, they found the body of Albert Fernandes (80) lying on his bed. Enquiries revealed that Fernandes, a senior citizen, had been living alone.
A scene of unnatural death (UD) occurrence panchnama and inquest panchnama were conducted in the presence of panch witnesses. The body has been preserved at the GMC morgue in Bambolim for further procedures.
Police said investigations are in progress.
