PANAJI: The District Level Committee (North Goa) chaired by Ankit Yadav, IAS, has reviewed and decided on claims submitted under the Forest Rights Act, 2006.
During the meeting, a total of 81 claims from Satrem and Buimpal villages in Sattari taluka were examined. Of these, 57 claims were approved, 17 claims were kept for personal hearing, one claim was rejected, and six claims were reverted to the Sub-Divisional Level Committee of Sattari for further action.
The committee’s decisions aim to ensure that rightful forest dwellers receive due recognition and land rights as provided under the Act.
