CANACONA – A total of 81 women got themselves screened at the Breast Cancer Screening Camp held at Palolem on Saturday.
Community Health Centre(CHC) Canacona Organized Breast Cancer Screening Camp in Co-ordination with Mahila Morcha Canacona at Govt. Middle school, Palolem on Saturday.
Besides the screening, Haemoglobin and RHSL tests were also conducted in which 23 Mahila (Women) were found with below 8% Haemoglobin.
The participants were also given Health Education and proper advice on the importance of Diet, its adverse effects and the importance of total investigation of blood.
Interestingly, Taluka health staff lauded the Canacona Mahila Morcha leaders for taking a keen interest in the examination of women and for bringing in maximum mahilas.
The camp was earlier Inaugurated at the hands of CMC Chairperson Simon Rebello, who lighted the traditional lamp in the presence of Mahila Morcha President Vinda Satarkar and Canacona BJP Mandal President Vishal Dessai, Dr Deepika Dessai, Councillor Sara Dessai and others.
