Margao: An 84-year-old woman, Maria Coutinho, a resident of Nuvem, was brought dead to South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao on July 17, 2025. The incident was reported to the police by the casualty department of SGDH after the deceased was brought in by a 108 Ambulance from her residence.
Preliminary enquiry revealed that the deceased had a history of diabetes and high blood pressure. On the afternoon of July 17, at around 2:15 PM, she reportedly complained of chest pain. Her daughter promptly sought emergency medical assistance, and she was referred to the hospital by the 108 ambulance service.
An inquest panchanama was conducted, and the body has been preserved at SGDH Margao for further medico-legal formalities. The enquiry is being conducted by LPSI Veronica Coutinho of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
