Old Goa: Old Goa Police Station has registered a case of rash and negligent driving against a 32-year-old Mumbai resident following an accident at Gandhi Circle, Old Goa.
As per the state complaint lodged by HC Rajan Zalmi, the incident occurred on March 2 at around 3 pm. The accused, identified as Dhaval Jain (32), a resident of Mumbai, was allegedly riding a Fascino scooter (GA03V5977) in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Old Goa towards Ponda.
On reaching Gandhi Circle, he allegedly dashed against a Honda Activa (GA04P8094) which was proceeding towards Gaudalim from Neura road.
Due to the impact, the Activa rider Bahaar Gawas (20), a resident of Charvane, Bicholim, and pillion rider Anuradha Kerkar (21), a resident of Thane, Valpoi, Sattari, sustained injuries. Both were shifted in a 108 ambulance to Goa Medical College and Hospital for treatment and were later discharged after medical care.
Police said the accused fled from the scene along with his scooter after the accident.
Further investigation is being carried out by HC Rajan Zalmi of Old Goa Police Station.
