I write today not as a critic, but as a concerned citizen and legislator who believes in accountability. To the men and women of our police force, please make no mistake—I expect you to do your duty with diligence, integrity, and fairness. Buckle up and pull up your socks. I will not hesitate to take you to court if your actions—or inactions—cross the line. This is my playground and I want a thorough impartial investigation into Rama Kankonkar case no matter who is involved. Any manipulation will be dealt with seriously.
Mistakes happen, and I am human enough to forgive minor lapses. Some small procedural errors, even misdemeanours, I may overlook. But there is no forgiveness for grave negligence, for wilful abuse of power, or for turning a blind eye when justice demands action. When your decisions put innocent lives at risk or fail to uphold the law, I will act decisively.
My warning is not a threat but a promise to the people I represent. The responsibility of the police is immense, and with it comes accountability. If necessary, I will not hesitate to take the matter as high as it must go and knock on every door of Court until the wrongs are corrected. My aim is not confrontation for its own sake but to ensure that the system functions as it should—a system where rights are protected, and wrongs are addressed promptly.
Let this serve as a reminder that power without accountability is dangerous, and silence in the face of injustice is unacceptable. Our police are guardians of public trust. Uphold it, and you will have my support. Breach it, and you will face the full weight of scrutiny and law.
The people deserve nothing less.
