MARGAO: AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s assertion on June 2 that the much-publicised exit polls are completely fake, was proved true when INDIA Alliance posted major success during the counting of the Lok Sabha votes today. BJP which was bragging of crossing 400, is struggling to reach even the halfway mark of 272 on its own.
In Goa, the INDIA Alliance candidate Capt Viriato Fernandes scored a convincing victory over his BJP counterpart in the South Goa constituency. Political analysts openly credited a large part of this success to the two AAP MLAs Engr Cruz Silva of Velim and Capt Venzy Viegas of Benaulim. Engr Cruz’s assiduous efforts made sure that Velim constituency returned the highest votes of 17,251 for INDIA Alliance candidates among all constituencies in Goa. Capt Viegas gave the highest lead of 14,181 for INDIA Alliance candidates among all constituencies in Goa.
State President Adv. Amit Palekar commended the party leaders and cadres for their tremendous efforts which have won praise from all alliance partners and political analysts.
General Secretary Adv. Surel Tilve expressed happiness at the success of INDIA Alliance and gave credit for its formation to party supremo Arvind Kejriwal. Tilve also said Kejriwal completely changed the narrative against Modi and BJP in the short period of 21 days of campaigning during his incarceration.
AAP Working Presidents Valmiki Naik and Gerson Gomes expressed confidence that the INDIA Alliance would continue for future elections in Goa, as we should make sure the BJP does not get a chance to continue its anti-democratic and anti-constitutional behaviour.
