Panaji: In a strategic move ahead of upcoming elections, the Aam Aadmi Party has appointed former Delhi Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi as the Co-In-Charge of Goa, marking a fresh phase in the party’s political activity in the state. Her appointment is not only an organizational step but also a significant political signal, reinforcing AAP’s long-term commitment to Goa. Known for her strong governance record, grassroots connect, and leadership within the party’s women’s wing, Oberoi is expected to bring new energy to AAP’s campaign machinery in the coastal state.
Oberoi, who joined AAP in 2013, rose to become Vice President of the women’s wing in 2021 and earned recognition for her direct outreach and efficient organizational work. Her entry into Goa politics is seen as a move that could challenge both ruling and established political parties in the state. With a focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots level, especially among women, her leadership is expected to boost internal mobilisation and public engagement.
Political observers see this development as a calculated step to expand AAP’s footprint in Goa through a structured and people-centric strategy. The appointment has already stirred political discussions and is likely to accelerate realignments and reactions within the state’s political circles.
