PONDA: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday claimed it has covered over 80 per cent of houses in Ponda as campaigning for the by-election nears its end, asserting growing public support across the constituency.
AAP candidate Geetesh Naik said the party has reached every corner of Ponda through door-to-door outreach and interacted with residents on key local issues. He alleged that people raised concerns over contaminated drinking water in Panditwada, frequent power cuts in areas such as Nagzar and Haveli, and inflated electricity bills. He further claimed that the response on the ground reflects dissatisfaction with both BJP and Congress.
AAP Goa State President Valmiki Naik stated that the scale of engagement across the constituency indicates a shift in public mood, adding that people are increasingly viewing AAP as a credible alternative. He expressed confidence that the party would secure a strong mandate in the by-election.
AAP Senior Vice President and Ponda campaign in-charge Sandesh Teleikar-Dessai said the campaign has covered nearly 5,786 houses and most booths across areas including Khadpabandh, Durgabhat, Shanti Nagar, Khandepar, Curti, Nagzar, Silva Nagar, Sapna Park, Naga Masjid, Haveli Curti, Yashwant Nagar and Kurtarkar Nagar. He added that residents have voiced frustration over lack of development and are expecting results-oriented governance.
AAP leaders said the response from voters indicates support for clean and transparent governance, expressing confidence that the momentum will translate into a decisive electoral outcome in Ponda.
