Panaji: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has sought an appointment with the Director General of Police (DGP) to discuss what it described as the “growing gun culture” and deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
In a letter addressed to the DGP, AAP Goa president Adv. Amit Palekar said the party was “deeply concerned over alarming incidents taking place one after another,” citing the recent shootout at Mungul, an open gun firing at Marcaim, and the attack on a police officer.
“These incidents, along with rising cases of thefts, assaults, and gang wars, have left citizens anxious about their safety and shaken their confidence in the system. Urgent and visible steps must be taken to restore peace and law and order across the state,” Palekar wrote.
The party has requested the DGP to grant an appointment at the earliest to allow a delegation of AAP leaders to present their observations and suggestions.
