PANAJI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has begun preparations for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections with the distribution of responsibilities among its state office bearers. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by AAP Goa President Adv. Amit Palekar.
Palekar said the party would contest the elections independently and “with full force against BJP,” adding that the polls would provide a platform to take AAP’s vision of clean governance and grassroots empowerment directly to the people.
“AAP has consistently stood with the people of Goa for the last three-and-a-half years, raising their issues, exposing corruption and demanding accountability. Through these elections, we will show Goans that we are ready to offer a genuine alternative to the failed governance of BJP,” said AAP MLA Cruz Silva.
AAP General Secretary (Organisation) Shrikrishna Parab added that office bearers have been entrusted with specific responsibilities to mobilise local support and highlight people’s concerns. He said the campaign would build on initiatives like #BJPCheBurak and project AAP as a united force determined to challenge the ruling party.
