MARGAO: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has initiated a state-wide membership campaign aimed at strengthening engagement with Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities across all 12 talukas of Goa. Leading the campaign is ST leader Vinay Velip, former head of the Adivasi Brigade, who has been appointed to coordinate efforts and gather grassroots insights. In a recent meeting attended by AAP MLAs Captain Venzy Viegas and Eng. Cruz Silva, along with Joint Secretary Prashant Naik, the party discussed the challenges faced by ST communities and resolved to appoint local leaders in each taluka to collect and convey community concerns to the party leadership.
Over the next 30 days, the taluka-level representatives, under Vinay Velip’s supervision, will visit 40 assembly constituencies to document the specific issues faced by the ST population. These issues will then be raised by AAP MLAs in the upcoming Legislative Assembly session. The appointed taluka leaders include Roshan Velip (Bardez and Mormugao), Gautam Velip (Bicholim), Murari Devra (Pernem), Deepu Shirodkar (Sattari), Kartik Velip (Tiswadi), Gitesh Gaonkar (Ponda), Tolu Velip (Canacona), Sahil Velip (Quepem), Sandeep Devdas (Sanguem), Anand Velip (Dharbandora), and Sushant Gaonkar (Salcete). Through this campaign, AAP Goa aims to ensure that the voices of the ST communities are heard and their issues addressed effectively.
