MERCES: In a bid to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to Goans, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa President Adv. Amit Palekar on Saturday inaugurated the “Aamche Arogya Polyclinic” in Merces, part of the St. Cruz constituency.
The polyclinic was inaugurated by senior citizen Joao Carmin Desouza Souza, with several senior AAP leaders in attendance. Among them were Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas, Velim MLA Cruz Silva, AAP National Secretary Pankaj Gupta, and Jyoti Palekar, mother of Amit Palekar.
Set up in collaboration with The Palekar Foundation, the clinic offers free medical consultations with general physicians, gynecologists, dentists, and pathologists.
The facility also features a tie-up with ASG Eye Hospital to provide specialized eye care, including free cataract surgeries.
Speaking at the event, Adv. Palekar expressed gratitude and said, “It gives Rasika and me immense joy to dedicate this polyclinic to the people. Our aim is to ensure that quality healthcare is not a privilege but a right.”
The launch of the Aamche Arogya Polyclinic is seen as part of AAP’s larger vision of “Governance with Compassion” and marks a notable step in expanding grassroots-level public health services in Goa.
