CANACONA: Aam Admi Party as a part of its statewide campaign, launched door to door free ration distribution program in Canacona on Wednesday.
The door to door free ration distribution was launched from Chaudi in Canacona on Wednesday morning by AAP state spokesperson Sandesh Teleikar in the presence of various leaders of AAP from the taluka.
Speaking while launching the services Sandesh Teleikar the face of AAP in Canacona and a AAP ticket front runner in Canacona said that this is another initiative taken up by his party as the Covid-19 pandemic has broken the backbone of the common man with many Goans losing their jobs and businesses and eventually their earnings.
The objective of AAP through this campaign is to see that no Goan goes without food as the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and curfew restrictions have rendered people penniless he said.
The party’s goal is to distribute free ration packets to every house in Goa, Teleikar said.
“Most Goans need support at this time, and the government should have shouldered the responsibility to provide that support to the needy. We appealed to the BJP Govt many times to provide financial relief, but it has fallen on deaf ears,.As a result AAP had to step in and we have shouldered the responsibility to see that the ration kit reaches each and every Goan house who are in need of the support at this time,” informed Teleikar.
At the state level we have put a total of 40 vans in service with one thousand volunteers who will coordinate the herculean task, he said.
Teleikar later flagged-off the vehicle from Chaudi in the presence of AAP leaders from the constituency and said that the vehicle will go to each and every house in the taluka and distribute the kits which contains about 10 kgs of dry grocery essentials such as flour, pulses, sugar and salt”.
