Porvorim: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Benaulim, Capt. Venzy Viegas, on Tuesday submitted a representation to the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Goa State Legislative Assembly, urging it to allocate adequate time for discussion on several pressing and unresolved issues in the forthcoming Assembly session.
In his submission, Viegas highlighted that as the Eighth Legislative Assembly enters its final year, it is crucial to focus attention on key concerns that have remained pending over the past four years. These include environmental protection, law and order, sustainable development and infrastructure-related challenges across the state.
“Now that we are entering the final year of this Eighth Legislative Assembly, we need to bring focus on the many important issues that have remained unresolved in the past four years,” Viegas stated, stressing the need for meaningful debate and resolution.
The Benaulim MLA requested the BAC to prioritise these matters in the business of the House during the upcoming Assembly session, which is scheduled to commence on January 12.
The representation was submitted with the objective of ensuring that the final year of the current Assembly addresses long-standing public concerns in a structured and time-bound manner.
