PANAJI:The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) intensified its “BJPChe Gundaraj, Goyank Naka” campaign across Goa on Sunday, targeting what it described as the BJP’s rising lawlessness and culture of fear.
Campaign rallies were held in Curchorem, Curtorim, and Assagao, highlighting an alleged increase in assaults, kidnappings, and gang-related violence under the BJP government.
AAP State President Amit Palekar accused the ruling party of fostering networks of goons, making the state unsafe for opposition leaders, activists, and ordinary citizens.
“No one feels protected under BJP’s rule. It’s time Goans unite against this culture of fear,” Palekar said.
Leaders Patricia Fernandes, Pujan Malvankar, Roque Mascarenhas, and James Fernandes also criticized Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for failing to curb crime and restore public safety.
Patricia Fernandes said the state machinery appears to support, rather than control, escalating lawlessness.
Pujan Malvankar, addressing supporters in Curtorim, called for clean politics instead of ‘gundaraj’, while James Fernandes in Curchorem decried rising gang wars.
Malvankar, in Assagao, urged the government to prioritize citizens’ real issues over silencing dissent.
The campaign drew significant local support, with commuters and residents showing solidarity with the party’s call for a safer Goa.
