PANAJI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led state government following the death of a BITS Pilani student in Goa, allegedly linked to drug use.
AAP State President Amit Palekar questioned how narcotics could reach the student and make their way inside the campus. “How did the drugs reach the student? How did they enter the college campus? This is a failure of the Goa Police, a failure of the law, and a failure of the Chief Minister,” he said.
Palekar further alleged that the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) had also failed in its duty to prevent such incidents. “Instead of focusing on this grave issue, the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is not taking it seriously,” he added.
The incident has once again highlighted growing concerns over the availability of drugs in the state and the effectiveness of enforcement agencies in curbing the menace.
