FATORDA: Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will not impact his party’s prospects in the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections, claiming AAP’s entry into Goa politics has been “systematic” and aided by defectors aligned with its national leadership.
Sardesai accused the BJP of deploying money power, manpower and political influence to suppress the opposition. He questioned the ruling party’s “unusual and excessive interest” in ZP polls, stating that ZP members hold limited powers. “Big leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, are suddenly showing interest in these elections. Their intention is also to divide the opposition,” he alleged.
Commenting on the recent Arpora nightclub fire incident, Sardesai claimed that “relatives of BJP leaders” are operating illegal nightclubs across Goa. He alleged that the tragedy has once again exposed the nexus between politicians and illegal nightlife activities.
Responding to a prank video by Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) chief Manoj Parab, Sardesai dismissed him outright. “Manoj Parab is a prankster. He himself admitted it was a prank. He played a prank on Goan people, and there is no need to take him seriously,” he said.
