PANAJI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Youth Wing has strongly criticized Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for his recent assertion that 20% of Goan youth are reluctant to work in the private sector.
The party demanded that the state government provide verified data on the actual number of private sector job vacancies.
Highlighting the current employment scenario, AAP pointed out that many companies in Goa are hiring workers from outside the state, indicating that local youth are keen to take up jobs.
“Contrary to claims that Goan youth are unwilling to work, they are actively seeking employment opportunities,” the party said, calling the CM’s statement misleading.
The AAP Youth Wing urged the government to ensure transparency regarding employment availability in Goa’s private sector and to take steps to create more opportunities for local youth.
