PANAJI: The YMCA All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, held at the Indoor Stadium in Campal, Panaji, witnessed an exciting display of young talent in the Junior Boys section, culminating in a thrilling showdown between Aaron Farias and Chandan Caro in both the Boys U17 and U19 categories. Aaron Farias and Chandan Caro emerged as the standout players of the day, showcasing their skills and determination to reach the finals. Chandan Caro’s remarkable performance had previously resulted in him reaching the finals in the Boys U15 category, marking his third finals appearance in the tournament.
The road to the finals was paved with intense matches. In the Boys U17 quarters, Aaron Farias defeated Darren Duarte 3-0, while Rishan Shaikh overcame Surendra Chube with the same score. Atharv Dhulapkar edged out Khushal Naik 3-2 in a closely contested match, and Chandan Caro triumphed over Chinmay Bhakare 3-0. The semifinals saw Aaron Farias securing a 3-0 victory against Rishan Shaikh, and Chandan Caro defeating Atharv Dhulapkar 3-1, setting the stage for their final clash. In the Boys U19 category, Aaron Farias advanced by defeating Dhruva Kamat 3-0 in the quarters and Khushal Naik 3-1 in the semis. Chandan Caro’s journey included a 3-0 victory over Surendra Chube in the quarters and a 3-0 win against Atharv Dhulapkar in the semis.
