PANAJI: Two separate accidents that occurred in the State claimed the lives of two people.
Roshan Amin Muzawar (41), a resident of Borimol-Sirvoi, Quepem, was killed, according to the police, after his two-wheeler struck an approaching motorcycle at Paroda, Quepem.
Born in Fatehpur, Jagdishpur, Bihar, and currently living in Housing Board, Davorlim, motorbike rider Mohammad Sarfaraz and his pillion rider Mohammad Riyaz Shaikh suffered severe injuries and were sent to the Hospicio South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for medical attention.
Around 8.45 in the morning, Sarfaraz was trying to pass a car when he ran into Muzawar, a two-wheeler rider who was approaching. Sarfaraz was traveling from Margao to Quepem with pillion rider Riyaz.
Following the panchanama, the Quepem Police filed an offense against Sarfaraz in accordance with BNS Sections 281, 125(b), and 106(1). Under the supervision of Quepem PI Arjun Sangodkar and general direction from Quepem DySP Sagar Ekoskar, PSI Digambar Bondre is carrying out the inquiry.
Francis Braganza, 43, of Forgottemwaddo, Goa Velha, lost his life in an additional accident that was reported to the Agasaim Police Station. The incident occurred early on Wednesday morning when his SUV struck a compound wall at Batim.
After receiving medical attention for minor wounds, his accomplice was released.
After conducting the panchanama, the Agasaim Police sent the deceased for an autopsy to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim.
