SATTARI: A 59-year-old man from Sattari, who was injured in a motor vehicle accident, has succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College, Bambolim.
As per police information, a wireless message (No. 1084/26 dated 16/02/2026) was received from CP GMC Bambolim informing that Yeshwant Gopal Gawas (59), a resident of Charavne, Thane, Sattari, expired in Ward No. 123 (ICU). He had been admitted following a motor vehicle accident registered as MV Accident No. 08/2026.
The accident had occurred on 13/02/2026 at around 19:30 hrs near the Babalapadar signboard at Charavne, Thane, Sattari, and was being investigated by ASI Mahadev Gawas of Valpoi Police Station.
Following the death, police conducted a detailed inquest panchanama in the presence of two panch witnesses. The body was then referred for post-mortem examination. The attending doctor, Dr. Vishnu Dev S., opined the cause of death as “craniocerebral damage consequent to blunt force impact by surface and/or object.”
The statement of the deceased’s brother, Kishore Gawas, was recorded, wherein he stated that there was no foul play suspected in the death of his brother.
After completion of formalities, the body was handed over to Kishore Gawas, a resident of Charavne Dongurli, Sattari, for performing the final religious rites.
