PANAJI: Police have arrested the accused in connection with the assault reported near the Old Patto Bridge in Tiswadi.
The case was registered on December 15, 2025, following a complaint filed by Nilesh s/o Bajirao Ganpati Barande (48), a native of Arewadi, Tolnaka, Jawli, Satara, Maharashtra, presently residing below the Old Patto Bridge, Panaji, Tiswadi, Goa.
According to police, the incident occurred on December 15, 2025, at around 8.00 pm, near the Sakhleshwar Shrine close to the Old Patto Bridge, when the accused Aman Choubey, a native of Jharkhand, allegedly assaulted the complainant with a wooden danda, causing grievous bleeding injuries to his head and other parts of the body.
Police said the accused has been arrested, and further investigation in the case is in progress with PSI Saheen Shetye.
