CARANZALEM: Social activist Rama Kankonkar, known for highlighting government failures and raising people’s issues, was brutally assaulted by a group of six individuals at Caranzalem on Thursday afternoon.The incident has sparked outrage, with Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai strongly condemning the attack. “This is not just an assault on Rama Kankonkar but an attack on every Goan who dares to question those in power,” Sardesai said, demanding strict action against the perpetrators.Police are investigating the case. Activist groups and citizens have also called for justice, stressing that intimidation of voices critical of the government cannot be tolerated in a democracy.
