Panaji: The State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025 concluded at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, Panaji, showcasing thrilling matches and top-class performances from young shuttlers. Advait Balakrishnan, Ritika Chelluri, and Sparsh Kolwalkar emerged as standout performers, each claiming double titles, while Aarush Pawaskar, Anaya Kamat, and Mohammed Umar Shaikh lifted the prestigious singles trophies. The tournament, conducted under the aegis of the Goa Badminton Association, was organised by Panjim Badminton Club and Panaji Krida Sankul in collaboration with the North Goa District Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa. The event witnessed fierce competition in the sub-junior (U15 & U17) categories.
In the singles finals, Mohammed Umar Shaikh displayed resilience in the Boys U15 final, bouncing back after losing the opening game to defeat Sparsh Kolwalkar 14-21, 21-13, 21-15. Anaya Kamat dominated the Girls U15 final, defeating third seed Pragya Audi 21-16, 21-17. In the U17 category, top seed Aarush Pawaskar impressed with a commanding 21-15, 21-10 victory over Devansh Sakpal in the Boys final, while Ritika Chelluri edged past Sufiya Shaikh 21-19, 9-21, 21-15 to claim the Girls singles crown.
The doubles competitions provided plenty of excitement. In Boys U15 doubles, Arnav Saraf and Sparsh Kolwalkar defeated Atharv Sadaye and Shaan C K 21-12, 21-13, while in Girls U15 doubles, Avni Khyalia and Palak Ramnathkar overcame Aaryaa Metry and Anaya Kamat 21-19, 21-15. Sparsh also partnered Aaryaa Metry in U15 mixed doubles to secure his second title, defeating Arnav Saraf and Niharika Parwar 9-21, 24-22, 21-17.
In the U17 category, Advait Balakrishnan clinched the Boys doubles title alongside Vansh Khedkar, overcoming Aarush Pawaskar and Owais Tahasildar 16-21, 21-10, 21-13. Advait then joined forces with Ritika Chelluri in the U17 mixed doubles to topple Vansh and Sufiya Shaikh 19-21, 21-10, 21-19. In the Girls U17 doubles, Shivanjali Thite and Sufiya Shaikh fought back to beat Dimple Revankar and Ritika Chelluri 20-22, 21-16, 21-19.
The tournament concluded with memorable performances, showcasing the depth of talent in Goa’s youth badminton circuit and highlighting emerging stars ready to make their mark at higher levels of competition.
