PONDA: Finally, Goa Dairy Officer on Special Duty ( OSD) Kashi Naik submitted their resignation to Administrative Committee Chairman Augustin Mesquita yesterday. The OSD appointment post has become controversial following objections to it by stakeholders, citing no provision in the bylaws of Goa Dairy to appoint OSD.
It may be recalled that the Administrative Committee of Goa Dairy had a few months ago appointed Kashi Naik as OSD. Recently acting as OSD, he convened the AGM of Goa Dairy on 27 April.
However, on 27 April, farmers (AGM) Members of Goa Dairy had opposed holding AGM of Goa Dairy convened by OSD Kashi Naik, citing that it is illegal as there is no provision in Goa Dairy to appoint (OSD) and therefore AGM called by him was cancelled, and Administrator postponed the AGM to next month following a demand made by farmers.
Further, before that, even RCS, in its letter dated 1 April 2022 to the Goa Dairy Administrator, had also pointed out that there is no provision in Goa Dairy bylaws to appoint OSD and even asked for clarification on the OSD appointment issue within 7 days to take further course of action.
Meanwhile, in the past month, Goa Dairy had started the process for the appointment of a permanent Managing Director (MD) for the vacant post of Goa Dairy. According to sources from all parts of the country, Goa Dairy received around 80 applications for the vacant post of Managing Director (MD), and it is learnt that only 10 applicants are qualified for the post. None of the Goan applicants (candidate) is qualified for the post of MD. However, some retired Goa Dairy MDs from Goa are trying for the post.
It is learnt that the interviewer’s team comprising of RCS, Administrator of Goa Dairy and a representative of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), will conduct an interview of qualified candidates and select the candidate for the vacant post of MD.
