Following the State relaxing the SOPs for movement of people across the borders, the Airport Authority of India has relaxed the rules of compulsory testing at the Dabolim airport too.
“As per the announcements by the Govt of Goa restrictions on interstate travel have been removed in line with guidelines of Govt of India. No more requirements of covid19 -ve report and no more test requirements for Domestic traveller’s,” the @aaigoaairport tweeted.
It further said that the passenger movement has also increased by leaps and bounds since June 2020.
“Touching the sky, slow and steady. Quantum of Flight movements and Passenger footfall has shown constant increase at Goa International Airport. With latest unlock guidelines further traffic increase is expected in near future,” the AAI said.
As per information, in May the passenger footfall was 4498, in June it increased to 20474 while in July it shot up to 22028.
Even the flight movement has increased considerably, in April only 59 flights operated while in June it increased almost five time to 265 and in July there were 318 flights.
