CANACONA: The newly formed Agonda United Sports Club recently conducted its first major activity—a five-day football coaching camp for boys and girls aged 5 to 14 years at the Agonda Ground.
The camp saw the enthusiastic participation of 35 children and was led by Coach Razor Braganza, with assistance from local footballer Gilbert Fernandes. Participants were trained in basic football skills such as juggling, dribbling, passing and receiving, shooting, ball control, and warm-up drills. The training sessions also included short matches to give the children practical exposure.
Several local footballers also volunteered their time to assist during the sessions, adding depth to the training experience.
The camp concluded with a brief function attended by club president Tribio Goes, secretary Mabel Fernandes, and treasurer Sanjeet Naik Gaonkar. Participation certificates were distributed to all children.
President Tribio Goes thanked the children and their parents for their active involvement and said, “Our club’s mission is to provide a platform for young and aspiring sportsmen and women to grow and succeed in their chosen sport.”
