Curtorim: Agxem Sports Club emerged champions of the 7-a-side Interward Cup after defeating Pidadigal Sports Club 2-0 in the finals held at St. Alex Church Ground, Curtorim. The tournament was organised by the St. Alex Parish Youth, Curtorim. Both teams played attacking football and created equal opportunities, but Agxem made the most of their chances. Alroy Gomes scored in the first half, while Jovial Martins netted the second goal in the latter half to secure the win for Agxem.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Fr. Victor Viegas as the chief guest, alongside Fr. Manuel Dias, Fr. Michael, Fr. Santario, Rui Menezes, and other dignitaries. Special awards were presented during the event: Gilbert Fernandes (Corjem) scored the inaugural goal of the tournament, Fredy Hilario (Eklate) was the first scorer, Aliston Fernandes (Pidadigal) emerged as the highest scorer, and Leonard Almeida (St. Anthony) was recognized as the senior-most player. Shenoy (Batora) was named the youngest promising player, while Lester Dias (St. Anthony) was awarded best goalkeeper of the tournament. In the finals, Alroy Gomes (Agxem) was not only the first scorer but also the man of the match, while Agnelo Gomes (Agxem) was named best goalkeeper.
Earlier, in an exhibition match, St. Alex Higher Secondary, Curtorim defeated Pope John XXIII, Quepem. The tournament showcased impressive local talent and fostered community spirit through the
