MARGAO: Agxem Sports Club down Bhatti United Club 3-1 to enter into the quarterfinals of the 1st Caniza Peixoto Memorial Football Tournament Org by Agxem Sports Club and played at St.Alex Church ground customs.
In an exciting quarter-final of the 1st Caniza Peixoto memorial Bhatti United scored the first goal in the 6th minute of play with the powerful shoot by James Fernandes while in the 12th minute of play, Agxem found the equaliser through Savio Peixoto and later on Agxem inflated the lead by Alroy gomes in the 21st minutes of play with neat placement and Agxem were leading 2-1 at the half time.
As the match progressed in the second half both teams tried to take control of the game but Bhatti United Macroy, Franky and Patrick tried to find an equaliser Agxem’s defence stood firm and denied scoring opportunities and in the 48th minute, Agxem Savio Peixoto scored from the top of the box to complete his brace and seal the game
Savio Peixeto of Agxem sports club was awarded man of the match.
