Mapusa: The 7th APSPA (Asia Pacific School Psychology Association) International Conference successfully concluded at the Pilgrim Centre, Pilar, Goa, from March 6 to 8, 2025. Themed “AI and the Future of School Psychology and Education,” the event welcomed 300 delegates from India, Palestine, Thailand, Malaysia, and Dubai, facilitating global discussions on AI’s role in education and mental health.
Jointly organized by the Asia Pacific School Psychology Association, Indian School Psychology Association, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, and Fr. Agnel College, Pilar, the conference provided a platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing on AI-driven innovations in education. Prasanna A. Acharya, IAS, Director of the IT Department, Goa, served as the Chief Guest, highlighting the importance of ethical AI integration in education. He emphasized that AI should complement human intelligence to enhance learning environments.
The three-day event featured keynote speeches, invited talks, symposia, and workshops, where experts explored AI’s impact on education, student psychology, and mental health interventions. Beyond academic discussions, the conference celebrated Goa’s cultural heritage with a cultural program and sightseeing tour, giving delegates a glimpse into the region’s traditions and history. The event was meticulously planned by teams from St. Xavier’s College and Fr. Agnel College, under Prof. Janet Fernandes (Organizing Secretary) and Chaitali More (Joint Secretary). Their leadership, along with institutional support, ensured a smooth and impactful conference. Special recognition was given to the Principal of Fr. Agnel College, Pilar, for their support.
The valedictory session honored outstanding contributions in educational psychology and AI applications. Delegates praised the quality of discussions, research presentations, and the event’s organization. The conference reaffirmed AI’s growing role in shaping the future of school psychology and education, paving the way for further research and policy advancements.
