New Delhi: Defending champions FC Goa sealed their place in the semi-finals of the AIFF Super Cup with a dominant 3-0 victory over Inter Kashi, maintaining their perfect record in Group B. The Gaurs displayed complete control from the opening whistle, wrapping up the contest with all three goals coming before the interval.
Dejan Drazic set the tone early, finding the net in the third minute. Borja Herrera then doubled the advantage and added another before half-time, completing a comfortable evening for the home side. With six points from two matches, FC Goa have confirmed their spot in the knockouts with one game still to play.
The result also meant Inter Kashi’s campaign came to an early end as they finished bottom of the table with just one point. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC and NorthEast United FC were left frustrated after a 2-2 draw in their second Group B clash.
NorthEast United began brightly under damp conditions, with Chema Nunez scoring in the 20th minute and Alaaeddine Ajaraie extending the lead nine minutes later. Jamshedpur, facing elimination, hit back through Pronay Halder’s header just before the break. Their persistence was rewarded in the closing moments when Raphael Messi Bouli struck in the 89th minute to secure a dramatic equaliser.
Despite the late comeback, the draw did little to help either team’s semi-final hopes. NorthEast United moved to two points from as many games, while Jamshedpur remained at the bottom with one. With FC Goa’s commanding lead, neither side can now overtake the group leaders, confirming the Gaurs’ progression to the semi-finals with a game to spare.
