PANAJI: Air India has announced the resumption of its direct flight service between Goa’s Manohar International Airport (Mopa) and London Gatwick, starting October 26, 2025.
The airline will operate the route three times a week — on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays — deploying its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The reinstated service is expected to offer a convenient option for both tourists and business travelers commuting between Goa and the United Kingdom.
The direct flights had been temporarily withdrawn earlier this year as part of Air India’s global route restructuring, which involved scaling down international operations of its Boeing 787 and 777 fleet.
With the return of the Goa–London connection, Air India aims to strengthen international connectivity ahead of the peak travel season, a move likely to give a fresh boost to Goa’s tourism sector while ensuring seamless long-haul travel for Goans to the UK.
Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade had called upon Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, in New Delhi and urged the immediate resumption of the direct Air India flight (AI 145/146) between Goa’s Manohar International Airport, Mopa (GOX), and London Gatwick Airport (LGW).
Tanavade had conveyed to the Union Minister that Goa’s strong diaspora presence and deep cultural and economic links with the United Kingdom make this flight not just a convenience but a lifeline.
Tanavade had also highlighted that the prolonged suspension has disrupted travel plans and caused severe hardship for Goans travelling to the UK.
