Fatorda: In the vibrant state of Goa, cricket enthusiasts are gearing up for an exciting tournament as the Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association (AGDBYA) prepares to host the 7th edition of the Davaidnya Cricket Cup. Scheduled for March 1st and 2nd, 2025, at the S.A.G Cricket Ground in Fatorda, this event promises to bring together some of the best cricketing talent from across Goa. The tournament will feature a total of 14 teams, including two women’s teams, marking a significant milestone in promoting cricket among diverse groups.
The anticipation for the tournament was heightened with the jersey launch event held on February 22nd, 2025, at Hotel Cosmique in Margao. The event was attended by key sponsors, including Swaroop V. S. Raikar Jewellers, Lotlikars Jewellers, Sanvi Jewels, Ramakant Jewellers, Atreya Gold & Diamonds by Jayesh Jewellers, M/s. Saishradha Construction, Mr. Audumbar E. Pingulkar, and Hotel Cosmique. Representatives from all participating teams, the AGDBYA managing committee, and media personnel were also present.
Mrs. Seema Vernekar, President of AGDBYA, welcomed guests and highlighted the association’s 15-year journey, emphasizing its commitment to various social activities such as career guidance programs, health check-up camps, and book distribution to needy children. The jersey and cap unveiling ceremony was conducted by the sponsors, while the trophies were unveiled by Mr. Sahil Lotliker, Secretary, AGDBYA, and Mr. Rahul Lotliker, Treasurer, AGDBYA. Mr. Pranay Vernekar skillfully compered the evening’s program.
