New Delhi: Al Falah University in Haryana’s Faridabad, which came under the spotlight after two doctors associated with it were arrested in connection with the Delhi blast, has issued a strong statement denying any links to the accused. The university said it was deeply anguished by the incident and condemned the actions of those involved.
Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Bhupinder Kaur Anand said the institution shares only a professional association with the doctors under investigation. She reaffirmed that the university has been imparting medical education since 2019 and is duly recognized by the University Grants Commission. “Our university has trained hundreds of MBBS students who are now serving responsibly across reputed hospitals and organizations in India and abroad,” the statement noted.
The administration clarified that the university has no connection with the alleged activities of the detained doctors beyond their employment. “We are saddened by these distressing developments and express solidarity with all those affected,” the Vice-Chancellor said.
The university also refuted circulating reports that claimed explosive materials or chemicals were stored on campus. It stressed that its laboratories are strictly used for academic and training purposes and adhere to all safety and ethical standards prescribed by regulatory authorities. “No such materials, as alleged, are handled or stored in our laboratories,” the statement added.
Al Falah University criticized the spread of “baseless and misleading” stories attempting to tarnish its image. The administration urged media outlets and individuals to verify information through official channels before making public statements.
The university came under scrutiny after two doctors associated with it were detained following the seizure of over 2,900 kilograms of explosives from Faridabad. Umar Mohammad, one of the prime suspects linked to the Red Fort blast that killed twelve people, had also worked at Al Falah. Security agencies have since conducted extensive searches on the campus and questioned over 50 individuals as part of the ongoing investigation.
