Mapusa police have arrested one accused, Nikhil Panajikar of Aldona, in the Aldona sarpanch Pranesh Naik brutal assault case.
Nikhil is a resident of Aldona and is allegedly one the of teh seven members who assaulted Pranesh.
North Goa SP, Sobhit Saxena said that they have already identified two more suspects and launched a manhunt for one of the main accused.
“We have some lead, and a case has been registered u/s 307 (murder attempt); Goa police are investigating in all angles. The reason behind the attack is yet to be known, he added.
On Thursday evening, Aldona Sarpanch Pranesh Naik was brutally assaulted by 7 people. The incident occurred on Thursday evening when Aldona Sarpanch Pranesh Naik was sitting at the local restaurant at Galvar Carona, Aldona. He was brutally attacked by 7 persons with Koita (chopper); presently, Pranesh Naik is in critical condition and undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim.
Now, the family members of Pranesh Naik had filed a complaint against one Vijay Karbotkar. Police have launched a manhunt for Vijay and his associates.
Meanwhile, the brother of the victim had revealed one of the alleged accused as Vijay Karbotkar, who allegedly attacked Pranesh with Koita and two other people when Pranesh and his friend had gone for lunch at a restaurant Carona in Aldona.
