PANAJI: The First batch of 100 students for the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) course was inducted today at the newly built All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa. Union Minister of Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shri Shripad Naik, Prof. Harilal Menon, Vice Chancellor- Goa University, and Director of AIIA, Dr Tanuja Nesari, were present on occasion.
Addressing the students, Union Minister Shripad Naik expressed his delight at having brought this project to Goa during his tenure as the A.Y.U.S.H. Minister. He shared his involvement in identifying the land, laying the foundation stone, and now, inaugurating the project, and expressed his warm welcome to the first batch. He emphasized that the institute would help boost medical tourism in Goa.
Shri Naik also highlighted the efforts of the newly formed Ministry of A.Y.U.S.H. under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and praised the All India Institute of Ayurveda in Goa for providing a perfect blend of ancient wisdom and modern technology in the field of A.Y.U.S.H. and tertiary care.
On December 11, 2022, the Prime Minister dedicated the AIIA to the people of Goa. The satellite centre in Goa offers all the preventive, diagnostic, and healthcare facilities available in Delhi and provides 14 undergraduate academic courses.
