CANACONA: Religious leaders representing different religious called for religious harmony, world peace and humanism amidst Unity in diversity at the 38th All Religious Prayer Mee held at Canacona on Sunday.
Around 8 different religious representatives gave their discourses at the well-attended All Religions Prayer Meet in its 34 th year, organised by Vividha Institute, Canacona.
Including Catholic Priests, around 7 Buddhists (of the Dalai Lama sect), Maulana (Islam), Sri Sri Ravishankar Guruji, Bhatt, Brahmakumaris, Nuns were some of the Speakers at the All Religions Prayer Meet.
People from Maharashtra and Karnataka, besides people’ from Bicholim, Pernem, Mapusa, Vasco, Margao, Sanvordem, and Quepem has, attended the prayer meeting.
Vividha Institute Principal Succour Fernandes informed the All Religions Prayer Meet was initially held beginning 1989 to bring religious harmony and brotherhood amongst all the people residing in Goa and particularly Canacona amidst social and religious discord prevailing at that time. ‘ In some of the initial years, we had to hold 2-3 prayer meets in a year, inviting different religious people at different points of time, and this has helped to bring people of different faiths together, giving World Humanism Message, United in World Peace and Unity in Diversity.’, informed Fernandes.
While speakers gave their respective religious discourses, Special prayers were held to Unite the World in God’s love.
