New Delhi: A potential blockbuster trade involving Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran is moving toward finalisation, with reports indicating that all three players have agreed to the swap. If completed, the deal would rank among the most dramatic in IPL history, sending Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson to Chennai Super Kings while Jadeja and Curran move to Rajasthan.
According to reports, all three players have signed the required documents, and the Expression of Interest process has begun. Franchise officials cited in the report said the trade could be completed within the next 48 hours, though the procedural steps may take some time to conclude.
As of November 10, however, neither CSK nor RR had formally notified the BCCI or the IPL governing authorities about the proposed move. Officials said the matter had not yet reached the board, though both teams are expected to make official communication once final internal approvals are secured.
Because the deal includes an overseas player, a No Objection Certificate from the England and Wales Cricket Board is required before it can be cleared. The NOC process is expected to be the final step once the trade receives domestic approval.
Samson, who has been with Rajasthan Royals for 11 seasons, had recently expressed interest in seeking a change after the latest IPL campaign. Jadeja, a former RR player during the league’s early years, has been a key member of CSK for most of his career and even captained the side briefly in 2022. Curran, meanwhile, has represented both CSK and Punjab Kings during his time in the league.
If sealed, the trade would reshape the core of both squads ahead of the next IPL season and mark a rare three player swap involving two marquee Indian stars and a leading overseas all rounder.
