PANAJI: In accordance with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights’ standards, the Directorate of Education has requested that schools raise public awareness of and comprehension of child safety and security (NCPCR).
Director of Education Shailesh Sinai Zingde states that the Commission has created a thorough safety and security manual in addition to “Guidelines on School Safety and Security” from the Ministry of Education to improve children’s safety and security in schools. These rules aim to create a system of accountability for children’s safety in all schools, including private ones.
The NCPCR has produced educational IEC materials, such as short films about children’s safety in schools, in order to raise awareness and comprehension of these rules and manual among important stakeholders, including kids, parents, and schools.
We are asking all heads of government, government-aided, government-unaided, primary, secondary, upper secondary, and special education institutions to share these videos with the public in order to raise awareness and knowledge of child safety and security.
In the meantime, the State’s Director of Education announced that nearly all of the state’s schools provide daily reports on midday meals.
In response to a story that appeared in the press, Zingde stated that the Directorate of Education received 100% of the daily reports on midday meal consumption. He clarified that the data for 39% were obtained via the government app, which is currently displaying problems in Goa as well as other States.
