Panaji: Vibrant Goa Foundation successfully hosted the Global Tech Summit Goa on 22nd and 23rd March 2024 at Kala Academy, Panjim, Goa. The Global Tech Summit is a platform for fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and shaping the digital landscape of tomorrow. The summit serves as a catalyst for businesses seeking to harness the power of AI and strategic partnerships for exponential growth in the global market landscape.
Commencing on 22nd March, the Global Tech Summit was inaugurated in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant as Chief Guest, Milind Anvekar, Chairman of Global Tech Summit, Manguirish Pai Raiker, Chairman of Goa State Development Council, ASSOCHAM, Rajkumar Kamat, Chairman of Vibrant Goa Foundation, Suresh Prabhu, Ex-Union Minister and Chancellor of Rishihood University, Chairman of the Board of Advisors of Vibrant Goa Foundation, Ms. Swetika Sachan, IAS, Arman Bankley, President of Vibrant Goa Foundation and Vinay Verma, Secretary of Vibrant Goa Foundation.
In his keynote speech, Suresh Prabhu, Ex-Union Minister and Chancellor of Rishihood University, Chairman of the Board of Advisors of Vibrant Goa Foundation said, “In the present era, with technology’s global momentum, Goa stands as a fertile ground for innovation and technological advancement, supported by the commitment of the Goa Government. Let us envision Goa as a new tech hub not only for India but also for the world. Embracing technology with sustainability at its core, we must utilize Goa’s abundant resources to create unimaginable job opportunities.”
The summit was followed by a series of discussions. These include topics such as “Changes & Opportunities in Travel Post Pandemic” led by Parveen Kumar Jiterwal, Chief AI & Marketing Officer at VFS Global Group, “Bridging the Gap – Fostering sustainability and inclusivity in the technological era” by Sudhir Kanvinde, CIO at Supreme Industries Ltd, “Start-Up Ka Mahakumbh” by Raj Sharma, Chairman AICRA and NADDSO, and “Safeguarding Tomorrow – The Intersection of AI & Cybersecurity” by Balaji Venkateshwar, Chief Mentor at Cyber Vidyapeeth. Sessions on “Navigating Business Expansion in Great Britain” facilitated by the British High Commission, a Startup Program hosted by BITS Goa, and a discussion on integrating robotics in schools & STEM labs to promote innovation and awareness, led by Raj Sharma, Chairman AICRA and NADDSO also took place.
Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant stated, “I’m happy to witness various institutes in Goa displaying their contributions. The Global Tech summit is a great platform for the youth. I congratulate Vibrant Goa Foundation for organizing this event.”
On Day 2 of the Global Tech Summit, participants had the exclusive opportunity to engage in personalized mentoring sessions with renowned expert Dr. Jagat Shah, delving into strategies for successful market entry and expansion. A dedicated session also uncovered the potential of AI tools in facilitating and enhancing the export process. A panel discussion on unlocking export opportunities in emerging markets with strategic partnerships shed light on the significance of strategic partnerships in unlocking export opportunities, particularly in emerging markets. The arenas featured student projects and presentations from Engineering Colleges in Goa such as IIT Goa, Goa Engineering College, Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Don Bosco College of Engineering, and Padre Conceicao College of Engineering along with schools such as Manovikas, and Sharada Mandir.
The summit witnessed footfalls of more than 2,500+ business delegates from all over India. Additionally, 800 students from 17 schools and 600+ students from engineering colleges attended the event. Over 35+ exhibitors showcased their technology innovations and a first ever live experience zones of robotics drones, Virtual reality and 3-D printing were showcased. 9 start-ups were provided seed funding through BITS Goa. Overall, attendees had an insightful and immersive experience throughout the summit, with ample opportunities for networking, learning, and collaboration.
In his keynote address, Dr. Jagat Shah, Chief Mentor of VGF Mentor on Road said, “In today’s interconnected business landscape, participation in national and international roadshows is important. These platforms act as vibrant hubs for networking, knowledge sharing, and forging mutually beneficial partnerships across diverse sectors and regions. By using these platforms effectively, businesses can unlock new markets, enhance visibility, and cultivate lasting connections that are instrumental in navigating the complexities of the global marketplace. I urge businesses to secure booths at the upcoming Global Expo Summit scheduled for November 8th to 10th, 2024.”
The Global Tech Summit ended with a Valedictory ceremony wherein the Amazing Goa Global Expo & Summit 2024 was launched in the presence of Shri. Suresh Prabhu, Ex-Union Minister and Chancellor of Rishihood University, Chairman of the Board of Advisors of Vibrant Goa Foundation as Chief Guest, Shri. Pravimal Abhishek, Managing Director of Goa Industrial Development Corporation as Guest of Honor and Dr. Jagat Shah, Chief Mentor of VGF Mentor on Road as Keynote Speaker.
