PANAJI: The Late Manohar Sawkar Goa State Table Tennis Tournament 2025 witnessed a lively day of competition at the Multipurpose Stadium in Fatorda, with top youngsters securing their places in the semi-finals across the Girls U11 and Boys U13 categories.
In the Girls U11 quarterfinals, top seed Anaya Shukla delivered a confident display, easing past Radha Dessai 3-0 to book her spot in the last four. Aarna Walavalkar followed with an impressive 3-1 win over fourth seed Tvisha Kotkar, showing excellent control in the key moments. Sanaz Siham Shaikh fought back after dropping the first game to defeat Claire Ann George 3-1, while second seed Shaurya Dessai completed the semifinal lineup with a composed 3-1 victory against seventh seed Tasha Mascarenhas.
The Boys U13 quarterfinals featured equally commanding performances. Top seed Ruhaan Shaikh maintained sharp form as he powered past Ashank Dalvi 3-0. Fifth seed Ishaan Colaso showed resilience, recovering from an early setback to overcome fourth seed Yuvaan Sanke 3-1. Third seed Yug Prabhu continued his strong run, securing a dominant 3-0 win over sixth seed Kavish Dalvi. Second seed Vedant Wagle rounded off the final four with a clinical 3-0 triumph against Kaushik Nair.
Earlier in the day, several players exited in the Boys U13 Round of 16, including Nathan D’Souza, Kedar Nair, Symeon Ferrao, Arnav Naryaal, Aarish Shaikh, Shreysht Rane, Arha Sahakari and Noel Kurian.
With the semifinal lineups now set, the tournament moves into its decisive stages as Goa’s promising young paddlers continue their pursuit of titles.
