MAPUSA: In a late-night operation near Bodgeshwar Temple in Mapusa, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) busted a suspected drug distribution network and arrested one accused while apprehending two juveniles in conflict with law.
According to police, Crime No. 09/2026 has been registered under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. During the raid, the team detained Vijay Singh (24), who was allegedly found in possession of 5 grams of suspected ganja.
A 17-year-old juvenile was also intercepted at the spot and found with around 5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, valued at approximately ₹25,000.
During interrogation, both reportedly revealed the involvement of two more juveniles in the network. Acting on the leads, ANC personnel traced and apprehended one more juvenile from Karaswada, while another accused remains absconding despite sustained search efforts.
Police said the arrested accused, Vijay Singh, has been remanded to three days of police custody.
The juveniles were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and remanded to three days’ detention at Apna Ghar, Merces.
