CANACONA: Delegation of Andhra Pradesh State Biodiversity Board on Goa visit, meets and interacts with the State’s award winning Shristhal Biodiversity Management Committee on Sunday.
The Andhra Pradesh State Biodiversity Board delegation led by Member Secretary Krishnamurthy as part of their visit to their counterpart’s Goa State Biodiversity Board called on some of the select BMC’s of the state, and on Sunday met Shristhal Biodiversity Management Committee, discussed and obtained information about the various works/activities conducted by the committee and also discussed various issues and sharing of informing as regards to the functioning of each other committee.
The Andhra Pradesh particularly took keen interests to known and understand the traditional method of fishing by ‘Paymvodo’, which is presently practiced in various parts of Canacona shores particularly at Palolem and Agonda.
The Shristhal BMC also led the AP team and inspected the Chapoli Dam and its surroundings, besides giving the AP team a better feel of Eco-Tourism at Nature Tourism Center at Hathipal.
Earlier, Shristhal Biodiversity Management Committee Chairman Vinay Tubki welcomed the delegation members, while member Shirish Pai provided information about various activities being conducted by BMC Shristhal. Committee members Anjali Gaonkar and Tejas Naik Gaonkar were present on this occasion .
