Panaji: The Goa government will roll out a 26-episode animated web series on the history of Goa’s freedom struggle starting from January 26, 2026.
This was revealed in a written reply by Archives Minister Subhash Phal Dessai to MLA Aleixo Lourenco in the Legislative Assembly.
The project, which begins production in August 2025, will consist of 10–12 minute episodes featuring a fusion of motion graphics, 2D and 3D animation with stereo sound. Since the series is animated, there is no live-action shooting involved.
The objective behind this initiative is to generate greater interest among youth about Goa’s liberation journey and instill a sense of pride and historical awareness.
The government hopes the series will serve as an engaging educational tool and preserve the memory of Goa’s struggle for freedom.
