Anjuna: The Village panchayat of Anjuna Caisua has red-flagged the Sunburn EDM Festival saying time not right to hold such events.
The organizers have started marketing the event, which is scheduled to be held in December. The State government has also conveyed that the event has been granted in principal approval.
Anjuna-Caisua sarpanch Savio Almeida said that the panchayat will not grant permission for hosting Sunburn this year.
Almeida said the health minister himself has said that the COVID19 could hit back in December.
“When the foreign countries have declared second lockdown how we can host such an event,” Almeida said.
He said Sunburn is a event attended by thousands and can be held at some other date but not in this year.
Asked whether the panchayat will grant permission of the event, he said, the panchayat has received application which is incomplete.
“The organizers have asked for permission to use the venue from December 10th onwards. However, we will revert once the application is complete,” he said.
